Anthropic says Claude monitoring data can stay in customers' cloud accounts
Anthropic says Enterprise Frontier Safeguards keeps monitoring data in cloud accounts that customers control. The company plans a phased rollout later this fall. Until then, eligible Fable 5 customers can get zero data retention temporarily.
What happened
Anthropic announced Enterprise Frontier Safeguards, an opt-in system that stores activity data in a customer's cloud account. Customers can set encryption keys, access policies, and human review rules. Anthropic says the system will work with Claude products and major cloud platforms.
Why it matters now
Anthropic added 30-day retention with Fable 5 to detect misuse across sessions and accounts. Enterprise Frontier Safeguards gives regulated customers a way to keep automated monitoring while using zero data retention. It is not broadly available yet. Customers still pay cloud storage, read, write, and egress fees.
