An AI-made film reaches Chinese cinemas and draws its first paying viewers.

Sanxingdui: Future Past opened in China on October 23. AFP's report, published October 24, says Maoyan recorded revenue approaching 290,000 yuan by Friday evening. Bona Film Group says production cost more than 10 million yuan. Nearly 100 people worked on the film for over two years, despite its generated actors, voices, and settings.

The Friday-evening figure shows early sales, not a final box-office total. Maoyan's separate projection is a forecast. One release cannot show demand for every AI-made film. Generated screen content also does not mean the production required no human labor.

Watch the full theatrical run and whether paying viewers return or recommend the film. Reaching cinemas and finding an audience willing to pay are different results.
